A public welfare event focusing on music therapy took place in a community of Zhanshan sub-district, Shinan district, Qingdao on April 10.
At the event, Wang Yuan, a violinist living in the United States and a teacher at the Art Department of Ocean University of China, conducted an open class on music therapy for the community resident, which was well received by participants.
"I have been feeling restless for no reason recently. After participating in the event, I am feeling better. Wang taught us many methods and recommended some pieces of music that I would like to listen to more," said a resident surnamed Liu.
Currently, Shinan district is making great efforts to become a destination for cultural tourism and health preservation, with music therapy receiving increasing attention.
In recent years, Shinan district has launched a series of music therapy activities featuring the 24 solar terms, which have raised awareness of the therapeutic effects of music in the district.
This event is part of the "community health campaign" launched during the flower admiration season in Shinan district. Various communities in the district will host a series of public welfare activities such as health lectures, open classes on music therapy, and seminars on pediatric massage techniques, providing residents with excellent opportunities to learn about and experience healthy lifestyles.
