Qingdao's ICH workshop gains renown for crispy chicken

Chunhe Building, a renowned catering enterprise in Qingdao, Shinan district, is hosting the Crispy Chicken Making Intangible Cultural Heritage (ICH) Workshop.
Established in 1891 during the Qing Dynasty (1644-1911), Chunhe Building is located at No 146 Zhongshan Road, a well-known century-old street in Qingdao.
The oldest catering enterprise in Qingdao, Chunhe Building has been designated as a "Time-honored Brand" by the Ministry of Domestic Trade and the Ministry of Commerce.

The workshop will showcase the famous crispy chicken cooking technique, a classic Shandong cuisine cooking method that has been passed down through generations in the Qingdao Chunhe Building Restaurant. This signature dish has been on the menu since the 1920s.
The "Crispy Chicken Cooking Technique" was recognized as an intangible cultural heritage in Qingdao in 2015. The following year, it received further recognition when it was named a representative item of provincial-level intangible cultural heritage in Shandong province.
