Badaguan, or literally "eight passes", is a famous villa area in Qingdao. Eight roads named after the famous passes of the Great Wall crisscross the area with old buildings in various styles. With Taiping Mountain behind it and Taiping Bay in front of it, Badaguan Scenic Area harmoniously integrates mountains and the sea, architecture and scenery, romance and classicism.
The walk can be followed by a hike up Signal Hill, on top of which one can climb the revolving observation tower for a bird's eye view of the city.
Drinking tea at the Xiaohonglou Art Museum afterward can be refreshing.
After a good night's sleep at a local hotel, enjoy the sunrise over the sea near Shilaoren Beach, and then a panoramic view of the city from the city sightseeing hall, which stands 81 floors high at Haitian View & Art. Visiting Qingdao World Expo Park, which has been transformed into a winter wonderland, is recommended before taking photos at Lubang International Style Street.
