Shinan district of Qingdao organized a series of cultural and tourism activities during the Mid-Autumn Festival and National Day holidays.
Drone shows, cultural parades, fashion markets and trendy selfie spots at the Qingdao Olympic Sailing Marine Cultural Tourism Area offered visitors with a cultural and tourism feast. During the holiday, the daily flow of visitors to the Olympic center reached 70,000 people at its peak. The total number of visitors during the entire holiday is expected to exceed 400,000.
In addition to trendy activities, the Shinan district cultural and tourism bureau, together with several museums in it, organized a series of study activities. Visitors can participate in various educational activities such as exhibition viewing, a Guzheng (a Chinese musical instrument) class, plays, and model-ship making both in-person and via live stream.
During the holiday, Former Site of the Holy Ghost Convent at No 28, Zhejiang Road, made its debut to the public for the first time and introduced the immersive theater IP from Shanghai Sleepless Night. In the hundred-year-old historical building, visitors can experience the unique charm of immersive theater through art installations, digital images and interactive performances.
With red lanterns, new signs, and neat and tidy street architecture, the renewed Pichai Courtyard, a treasure trove of traditional Chinese culture in Shinan district, exudes a joyful and peaceful atmosphere. The walls are decorated with old objects such as sewing machines and hot water bottles, while LED screens display old photos, evoking the memories and nostalgia of old Qingdao residents.
