'The Big Band' contest wraps up in Shinan

In a finale to a series of music events, "The Big Band" contest unfolded at the Qingdao Olympic Sailing Center in Shinan on July 9. A diverse ensemble of 19 bands, each with their unique style, converged to orchestrate a symphony of sounds for an eager audience.

Spanning a broad spectrum of ages, the participating bands included seasoned veterans and rising stars alike. The 19 shortlisted bands took to the stage, delivering renditions of classic hits that resonated with emotion, driving the atmosphere to a fever pitch.
Among the performers, the Old Tree band, dressed in tropical floral shirts, was a standout. With the members having entered their twilight years, this soon-to-be-retired band captivated the crowd with their laid-back old-pop style and impassioned performance, earning them sustained cheers from the audience.

After more than two hours of intense competition, the panel of judges carried out a thorough evaluation from various perspectives. In the end, they selected 10 bands characterized by their remarkable talent and charisma to advance to the next round of the tour.
