Shinan district in Qingdao has recently made strides in developing its digital economy and fostering innovative industries.
By adopting a "one district, multiple parks" strategy, Shinan has diligently developed a variety of unique software industrial parks tailored to cater to distinct themes and priorities. This approach has effectively attracted prominent enterprises and essential links within industry chains.
The inauguration of Chunfengli · Qingdao Smart City Industry Park is a testament to these efforts.
By focusing on the software and information technology, artificial intelligence (AI) and virtual reality (VR) industrial chains, the park has attracted a total of 32 leading enterprises. Among these industrial chains are 15 first-class headquarters projects, three projects with total investments of over 1 billion yuan ($144.5 million), and three projects that have the potential to go public in the next four years.
At the same time, Shinan is carrying out urban renewal projects with digital economy developments to optimize the layout of its burgeoning metaverse industry. A prime location on Hong Kong West Road is set to be the location for a metaverse building and is backed by an investment of more than 5 billion yuan.
Talent cultivation remains crucial for the growth of the digital industry. Currently, Shinan is attracting and nurturing high-caliber professionals in the metaverse industry while building a comprehensive platform that provides services for top-notch talents.
