Shinan cultivates fertile soil for legal industry

Shinan district in Qingdao, Shandong province recently held a news conference on the high-quality development of the legal industry to promote modern services, contribute to the construction of the rule of law and build a demonstration area for the sector.
In 2022, the total revenue of law firms in the district accounted for 52 percent of the city's total. The growth rate of the legal industry's gross domestic product (GDP) surged 30.08 percent, ranking first in Qingdao.
During the conference, the district granted the honorary title of the 2022 Outstanding Contribution Law Firms in Shinan to representatives from excellent law firms and released policies such as the Shinan District Lawyer Industry Empowerment Action Plan and the Shinan District "Little Giants" Law Firms Cultivation Plan to fuel headquarters economy and bolster the innovative ability of enterprises.
Han Tao, director of the Shandong Laoqian Law Firm, said: "The legal industry in Shinan will surely follow a high-quality development path and we will strive to play a leading part in it."
Zhang Zhiguo, director of the Shandong Wincon Law Firm, said: "We will enhance communication among directors of law firms through various activities and improve our management ability."
Shinan government representatives also noted that the district plans to continue to improve the industry's core competitiveness and foster fertile ground for the high-quality development of the sector.
"We will stimulate the vitality and diversity of the legal industry, support large-scale law firms to develop the headquarters-based economy and cultivate a group of 'little giants' - those specializing in niche industries and cutting-edge technologies with great growth potential," said Xie Aimin, deputy director of the Shinan judicial bureau.
