The launch ceremony of Qingdao Digital Intelligence Urban Industrial Park kicked off in Shinan district in Qingdao, Shandong province on March 29.

The industrial park aims to attract more software and information, artificial intelligence and virtual reality industrial chain enterprises to settle in the area and hopes to form an innovation and entrepreneurship system by optimizing the relevant industrial chain.

In 2022, the industrial park witnessed a huge transformation from 5,500-square meters of idle buildings into a digitally intelligent new economic industrial park, and it was selected as one of the first four municipal-level science and technology innovation industrial parks in Qingdao.

Now, the park has signed agreements with 32 leading enterprises specializing in digital intelligence and the new economy, including 15 headquarters projects and three projects worth 100 million yuan ($14 million).

Moving forward, the industrial park plans to learn from other cities' successful experience to create a digitally intelligent new economy industrial cluster. It also strives to achieve the goal of a 10 billion output value and a 100 million yuan tax revenue in three years, which is expected to boost Qingdao's high-tech industry and social and economic development.

"Parks are an important carrier of industrial development and a powerful engine of economic development. Shinan district will cooperate with industrial parks to promote the settlement of more leading projects and continue to expand the scale of emerging industries. Relevant departments shall provide the park and new enterprises with the best services and environment for high-quality development," said Wang Feng, party chief of Shinan district.
