Shinan district in Qingdong, Shandong province is currently hosting a spring art festival that is sparking excitement throughout the city.
The festival is focused on preserving the region's historical heritage and promoting the creation of 5A-level scenic spots and new business models.
Shinan has completed the transformation of Zhongshan Road, Taiping Road, and 50 traditional Liyuan buildings, and introduced 68 new projects and business models, with over 50 being unveiled during the festival.
The project leader plans to enhance the old downtown area's night views with customized lighting on Zhongshan Road's rooftops and facades, and use low-luminance warm light on buildings in the Dabao Island area to highlight their features. Linear facade lighting is expected to enhance the texture, and window frame lighting should make the buildings stand out at night. Different nighttime themes are being created by combining lighting and unique alley spaces to highlight their playful and artistic nature.
New additions to the historical district include DIOR's Index Bear pop-up store, Takashi Murakami's print exhibition, and the Green Trend Culture and Art Exhibition.

A commercial project integrating a light and shadow museum, restaurant, hotel, bar, coffee shop, and cultural and creative industries is set to open on Beijing Road by November.
Six major streets, such as Huangdao Road, are being renovated in preparation for opening, along with the Shangjieli Cultural Creative Industry Park.
