Centered on the metaverse, the Metaverse Innovation Vocational Skill Competition started on Feb 6 in Shinan district, and was attended by representatives from the department of human resources and social security of Shinan, Alibaba Group and a total of 17 media.

According to a representative from the department of human resources and social security of Shinan, the competition serves as a platform for talents to utilize their skills and put their ideas into production. Lasting until May, the competition will draw a great number of enterprises that aspire to plow into the field of the metaverse.

The competition has both a team event and an individual event, with the finals taking place at the square in front of the Catholic Church, and those who win the top prize will receive 20,000 yuan ($2,950) in prize money.

In recent years, Shinan has released a total of 20 favorable policies to help enterprises forge ahead in the field.

In 2022, Shinan invested 30 million yuan in auxiliary equipment upgrades in Qingdao Software Park and Qingdao International Animation Game Industrial Park. This year, Shinan is expected to open the metaverse in the old downtown area.

Furthermore, Shinan never stops introducing high-tech talents. Last year, more than 40,000 talents settled in Shinan. In 2023, Shinan plans to give metaverse training courses to more than 2,000 talents, and recruit more than 6,000 talents with a metaverse background from other regions.
