The inaugural Guangjieli Cultural Festival, which featured a wide range of top-notch tourist resources, including a vibrant local culture and favorable policies, began on Jan 25 in Shinan and was well-received by visitors.

An anonymous visitor from Weifang, Shandong province said that each year, in addition to visiting Qingdao to celebrate the Spring Festival with his family, he has also become mesmerized by the cultural events hosted in Shinan, and shares his videos and images online.

An art exhibition was presented throughout the Spring Festival weekend, and featured various works by local artists in an effort to rekindle memories of the past, and draw inspiration from the culture offered by Shinan's numerous antique Liyuan structures.

In order to better entertain attendees, event activities have also been diversified. Those who posted WeChat moments about the Guangjieli Cultural Festival were eligible to obtain priceless goodies if any of their moments received more than 50 thumbs-ups.

Cultural events have given Shinan a fresh breath of life by drawing crowds of tourists to check them out. The Qingdao 1907 Movie Museum's marketing director, Sun Peng, claims that compared to previous years, the museum's sales volume during the Spring Festival vacation tripled.
