Boasting rich cultural resources and underpinned by favorable policies, the old downtown area in Shinan district is becoming more prosperous.

From the begining of last year, a number of cultural events have taken place already, such as the Shangjieli Beer Festival and the Guangjieli Cultural Festival.

During the Spring Festival holiday, the most popular place in Shinan was undoubtedly Sanjiangli, a street located in the old downtown area, which held events that included the Peking Opera performance of The Drunken Concubine.

Shinan has strived to give full play to the beauty of light as an artistic element in the district. During the Spring Festival holiday, light shows, lasers shows and projections were displayed in the old downtown area.

Cultural activities, such as music events and street performances, are held  held periodically, and have become a part of the community.

In addition to unleashing the potential of its cultural resources, the old downtown area also serves as a place for fashion. Groups of leading international fashion houses, such as Louis Vuitton, have set up shops in the area. A series of fashion activities, such as wine parties and percussion music performances, have attracted crowds of young visitors.
