In recent years, Shinan has held a great number of cultural events that have yielded fruitful results.
During the Spring Festival holiday, a cultural event was held in Shinan, which attracted numerous visitors and boosted the consumer market in the district.
During the holiday, the sales volumes of Yuexikelai Plaza and Baishengke, two shopping centers located on Zhongshan Road, realized a year-on-year increase of 20 percent and 10 percent, respectively.
According to the general-manager of Qingdao Yuexikelai Zhongshan Shopping Co, shops in the shopping center were suffed with customers, and to better serve the visitors, the shopping center had provided more parking spaces.
Another event took place at Qingdao 1907 Movie Museum, which is injecting new energy into the old downtown area by introducing shops for younger generations. The cultural event was opened during the holiday and crowds of young visitors flocked to the museum to immerse themselves in its unique ambience.
Last year, Anna Villa, which is more than a century old, was reopened to showcase the history of Qingdao's wedding culture during the 2022 Qingdao Wedding Culture Festival, which kicked off on Dec 17, 2022.
Decorated with flowers to create a romantic atmosphere, the villa has attracted crowds of shutterbugs and boosted Shinan's cultural tourism.
