Shinan launches programs to improve people's livelihoods

Shinan launched a total of 29 programs to provide better services for local residents on Jan 10, which are expected to increase employment, improve tourism quality, address housing problems, balance educational resources and provide better health care.
In 2023, Shinan plans to create 37,000 new jobs and introduce more than 16,500 talents in six pillar industries. On top of that, eight innovation and entrepreneurship bases are expected to be established to offer training courses to 8,000 residents who are unemployed, fresh out of colleges or currently working at enterprises.
The old downtown area is expected to be renewed as well. Paving of the 1,080-meter main street on Zhongshan road is expected to be finished, so is the restoration of a total of 40 ancient buildings.
Furthermore, Shinan plans to continue building a greener environment for residents and visitors. The 1,825-meter greenway on Fushan Mountain was completed in 2022, and there are seven pocket parks and four seaside resorts yet to be opened in 2023. Based on its rich natural resources and cultural destinations, Shinan is expected to open a total of 18 cultural tourism routes.

To help improve people's physical health, there will be a total of 400 types of fitness and children's entertainment facilities to be newly built or upgraded. What's more, the sports fields at public schools will be open to local residents to make playing sports and exercising more accessible.
