Places worth visiting in Shinan

In Qingdao Chengshihui, Ma Da, a famous Chinese writer, painted pictures of 200 places of interest in Qingdao and wrote short stories about them to showcase the historical culture of Qingdao.
Among all the places mentioned in the book, many are located in Shinan district and the most prominent one is Hua Shi Lou. As the most famous building at the Badaguan scenic spot, Hua Shi Lou is a castle with European architecture style, which includes Gothic style and Greek style.

The Catholic Church in Qingdao, commonly known as St. Michael's Church, boasts the largest Gothic-style structure in the city and is surrounded by two towers. There is a spectacular medieval-style window above the gate, which visitors can see before entering the church.

In addition to a great variety of ancient buildings in the area, people can also pay a visit to Zhanqiao Pier. Many local Qingdao residents believe that a person hasn't truly experienced Qingdao until they’ve visited Zhanqiao Pier.
Zhanqiao Pier was established in 1892 and is an iconic symbol of Qingdao. With its refreshing air and natural scenery, Zhanqiao Pier is a great place to visit.
