Over the past 10 years, Shinan district has enjoyed the prosperity of cultural undertakings and tourism. With its soft power enhanced, Shinan's culture and tourism industries are booming.

Shinan has kept exploring the integration of culture and tourism. The headquarters of the art fair has been permanently located in Shinan and there will be a great number of international performances to take place at the International (Qingdao) Percussion Performing Arts Center, which will continue to polish the city's brand as an island of music.

The district has promoted "tourism +" and "+ tourism", with modern development models being driven by culture, education, creativity and fashion. The old downtown area has also been showcasing its charisma with cultural intellectual properties, including the recently reconstructed Silver Fish Street. 

Shinan has actively promoted the upgrading and development of the cultural tourism industry over the past 10 years. Efforts have been made to gather high-end cultural and tourism industry chains, give full play to the role of industrial support policies, and accelerate the process of making the Qingdao International Sailing Center a 5A-level scenic spot where marine events can take place.

Since 2012, Shinan has continued to optimize the supply of public cultural services. An annual average of 3,100 mass cultural activities, including the 2022 Qingdao Shinan First Shangjieli Beer Festival, have been carried out to benefit the public. Reading platforms have been created and about 80,000 books have been handed out to more than 150,000 readers.
