Shinan exhibits exquisite carving works

The ongoing Invitational Exhibition of Chinese Arts and Crafts in the Haitian Yunshang Art Center – situated in the Shinan district of Qingdao city in East China's Shandong province – is offering visitors a fresh and fascinating cultural experience.
Launched on Sept 16, it will run through to Nov 15. The two-month exhibition is displaying over 80 pieces of carving artworks created by nearly 50 Chinese contemporary masters. To charm visitors there is a wide variety of exhibits, including Shoushan stone carvings and Dongyang wood carvings.
The Shoushan carvings were included in the first batch of the national intangible cultural heritage list. The exhibition is showcasing many rare Shoushan stone works, allowing visitors to appreciate their charms.
What's more, leading masters in various categories of arts and crafts are participating, including Chinese jade sculptor Lin Fei, Shoushan stone sculptor Chen Lizhong and root carving artist Zhang Mufang. Their works are said to be natural and vivid, offering visitors a compelling aesthetic perspective.
During the exhibition, various cultural and artistic activities will be held, such as online discussions and lectures.
The Haitian Yunshang Art Center, located on the 80th floor of the Qingdao Haitian Center, is 325 meters above sea level. As the highest physical art exhibition hall in China, the center has held a number of high-quality modern and contemporary art exhibitions.
