Dec 7 coincided with the Major Snow (Chinese: 大雪) – the 21st solar term of the year, with the traditional Chinese lunar calendar dividing the year into 24 solar terms.
On that day, the Shinan Culture Courier Station – located in the Shinan district of Qingdao city in East China's Shandong province – rose to the challenge.
It staged well-organized traditional cultural events, offering the locals rich experiences in intangible cultural heritage through the display and offering of activities, elegant handcraft items and gastronomic delicacies, according to local media reports.
The Chinese traditional song White Snow – performed by guqin, a seven-string traditional Chinese instrument – on the day expressed the lofty and unsullied spirit symbolized by the snow. In addition, the sweet smell of handmade sugar satisfied the tastes of foodies there.
