A promotions launch for the upcoming China Tourism Day – founded in 2011 to spur the public's desire to travel and to promote tourist spending – recently took place in East China's Shandong province. The event falls on May 19 every year and 2021 marks the 11th time the day it is being observed.
The Shinan district of Qingdao city in Shandong announced that its scenic spots, museums and hotels are offering free entrance or discounts to medical staff, to show respect and gratitude for their contribution and efforts in the fight against the COVID-19 pandemic.
Discounts and coupons are also being offered to tourists heading out to explore the venues in the district.
In addition, 2021 Qingdao · Shinan International Museum Day, which is also one of a series of China Tourism Day-themed activities, is set to be held in the district.
Six new tourist products were unveiled during the launch event – covering high-quality coastal tourism resources – so that tourists can better experience micro-travel and the slower pace of life in Shinan district.
To top it off, in order to enhance brand recognition and the attractions of the museums in Shinan, the district will invite more people to participate in the International Museum on May 18 through museum-themed activities.
