Concert in Shinan district to showcase grassland culture

Chi Bulag, a famous and internationally-renowned master of the Morin Khuur or traditional horsehead fiddle – who is also a national first-class performer and national inheritor of intangible cultural heritage – will perform his instrument at a concert on April 26, in the Shinan district of Qingdao city in East China's Shandong province.
Bulag also invited another Morin Khuur master – Chi Bulgoude – as well as pianist Yi Jili and the Bajun Chamber Orchestra to jointly present the grassland and nomadic culture of North China's Inner Mongolia autonomous region to the audience in Shinan.
They are expected to employ a diverse range of musical instruments in an eagerly anticipated event.
The master will lead his ensemble to perform a repertoire of famous melodies he has written.

Chi Bulag
Currently Chi Bulag is president of the World Morin Khuur Association and is a master tutor of Minzu University of China, located in Beijing.
In a music career spanning 70 years, Chi has made remarkable contributions to the innovation and development of the Morin Khuur and to its standing in the world of music.
One of his masterpieces – the Morin Khuur melody "Ten Thousand Horses Galloping Ahead" – which he composed at the age of 18, became the theme song of the World Horse Culture Forum in Inner Mongolia autonomous region in 2019.
