Yushan Road -- in the Shinan district of Qingdao city in East China's Shandong province -- was built around 1918, as originally a sand road without a name, before being given its current name in 1922.

In 1939, the north and south sections of Yushan Road were improved from sand and stone surface with small square stones. After 1949, the road was paved with asphalt.

Yushan Road is a very old and celebrated street. Almost every building has left its footprint, having housed one of the island city's celebrities such as the Chinese patriotic poet -- Wen Yiduo. [Photo/WeChat account: qdweishinan]
