The 14th German-style Star Market opened with great fanfare on Nov 20 outside the Qingdao Castle Hotel near the museum of the former German governor's residence in Shinan district, in the port city of Qingdao in East China's Shandong province, according to local officials.
The market, which features German products and customs, was established by two Germans -- Clemens and Ulf -- on the roof of the local old observatory. It was named the Star Market because visitors could view the heavens while shopping and having fun, creating a romantic ambience.
Visitors can eat German seasonal food, roasted chestnuts, candy floss, chocolate, German sausage and French bread – and quaff German and other European wines.
Last year, the market attracted more than 60,000 visitors. Don't miss out on this grand tradition and winter event this year!
