The Neighbor Festival opened on June 16 in Shinan district, Qingdao. It is themed around morality and etiquette.

The festival opened with some song and dance performances, and a series of videos shared some heartwarming stories of local residents amid the outbreak of the novel coronavirus.

During the ceremony, several local enterprises also donated medical protective materials and equipment meant for elderly care to communities around the district.

This is the fifth year the district has hosted the event, which is growing in popularity. More and more volunteer groups are forming in Shinan, which could possibly be related to the popularity of the Neighbor Festival.
