The launching ceremony of "HI CITY", a cultural and commercial complex, was held in Shinan district, Qingdao, Shandong province on May 22. It is expected to become an innovative complex which will boost China's nighttime economy.

The complex will include five major sections focusing on music and art, start-up incubation, internet celebrity cultivation, fashion trends, and cultural exchange.

It aims to help young people start businesses based on their interests. Young people from around the world are encouraged to work and live in the city. 

The complex will also focus on developing the livestreaming industry and new types consumption and will contribute to the city's construction into an international fashion center.

Qingdao Jujiang Cultural Development Group, an investor in the complex, has made significant achievements in developing the city's nighttime economy and is expected to carry out three related projects worth a total of 300 million yuan ($42.01 million).
