Shinan home to a growing number of gulls

As winter approaches, a large number of sea gulls are arriving in Shinan distrct, Qingdao, Shandong province, making it a great place for gull watching.
Sea gulls are typically seen near the coast, and often dot the skies at sunrise and sunset. Many tourists come to the district to watch the sea gulls in winter.

Sea gulls begin arriving in Qingdao at the end of July and stay until April of the following year. They choose to pass winter in the city due to its warm climate, healthy environment, and friendly residents.
Five types of gulls pass the winter in Qingdao, with black-headed gulls (larus ridibundus) being the most numerous. A growing number of gulls have been inhabiting the city lately, and the city has expanded their habitat.
The best places in the district to watch gulls are the Qingdao Trestle Bridge, the Badaguan Scenic Area, May Fourth Square, the Qingdao Olympic Sailing Center, and the Qingdao Sculpture Park.
