The 2018 Qingdao International Calligraphy Biennale took place at Qingdao International Conference Center on Oct 27 - 29, 2018.

More than 110 scholars and enthusiasts from 14 countries and regions, including Russia, the United States and Japan, were invited to the event. About 10,000 locals and tourists came to enjoy more than 160 calligraphy works exhibited at the biennale.

During the event, thematic activities were held. The "artists face-to-face interaction" activity was arranged for calligraphers from home and aboard to visit schools and senior citizen activity centers to promote calligraphy arts. The calligraphy artists were also invited to visit natural and cultural landscapes and historic buildings in the city.
