The event was jointly hosted by the China Federation of Logistics and Purchasing, the Qingdao municipal government, the Shandong Port Group, and the Qingdao West Coast New Area Administrative Committee.

It is one of the largest and most important annual events in China's logistics industry, and organizers hosted conversations focusing on current trends within the industry and exploring new development opportunities for domestic logistics firms.

Six parallel forums were also held during the conference.

The coastal city of Qingdao boasts a thriving logistics industry. Its ports, waterways, and land transport serve as vital links for both international and domestic trade.

Qingdao Port connects to more than 700 ports in more than 180 countries and regions via over 170 maritime routes. It handles more than 600 million tons of goods and over 21 million TEUs (twenty-foot equivalent units) annually.

Since its approval in August last year, the Qingdao Area of the China (Shandong) Pilot Free Trade Zone has been making strong efforts to develop its port and waterway logistics businesses, with shipping logistics playing a major role.

The Qingdao Area of the Shandong FTZ signed agreements for five logistics and warehouse-related projects at the conference, which are expected to fuel the comprehensive development of finance, trade, logistics, and warehousing in the area.
