On the sixth day of its journey since its departure from Hong Kong, Qingdao China, the super trimaran named after the coastal city of Qingdao, Shandong province, arrived in Singapore on Nov 7, its fourth port of call.
In order to enhance business ties between the two cities and promote Qingdao as "Sailing City" of China, the commerce bureau and sports bureau of Qingdao held a promotion activity in Singapore on Nov 8. Along with the crew members, the participants included officials from Chinese Embassy in Singapore and representatives from the China Council for the Promotion of International Trade in Singapore, Singaporean enterprises and the media.
The activity also celebrated the first anniversary of the Singapore•Qingdao Center for Business and Commerce, a business representative office of Qingdao in Singapore, which was founded on Nov 8, 2014, with a mission to "bring in" Southeast Asian companies to Qingdao and help Qingdao companies "step into" Southeast Asian market.
The super trimaran will leave Singapore on Nov 10, heading to its next port of call, Mirissa of Sri Lanka.
