In 2024, Dongying, located in East China's Shandong province, made significant strides through the comprehensive deepening of reforms, achieving notable advancements across various sectors.
A key achievement in 2024 was the inclusion of the Yellow River Delta migratory bird habitat on the UNESCO World Heritage List. The region's well-preserved environment has attracted 374 species of birds, with 38 species of waterfowl accounting for more than one percent of the global population. As a result, the Yellow River Delta has become a haven for migratory birds.

Dongying also made remarkable progress in the integrated utilization of saline-alkali land and agricultural innovation. The city has driven advancements in the saline-alkali land seed industry, with 20 new salt-alkali-tolerant crop varieties officially recognized and registered.

The city has accelerated the development of a modern industrial system. Thirteen Dongying-based companies were ranked among China's top 500 enterprises, while 15 secured spots among the top 500 private enterprises. Both rankings positioned Dongying first in Shandong province.

In the digital economy sector, the added value of the city's core digital economy industries has grown by over 100 percent annually for the past three years straight. Emerging industries are thriving, technological innovation capabilities continue to strengthen, and the business environment is consistently improving.
Dongying has also placed a strong emphasis on enhancing public well-being through continued reforms and has explored new breakthroughs in establishing a leading area for common prosperity.
