Brand building drives Jining's high-quality growth

Jining in East China's Shandong province will further beef up its efforts in building its brands with high quality products and services, officials said at a government work conference on Feb 14.
In response to the provincial calls for strengthening brand building to power high-quality growth, Jining has carried out a series of measures to enhance local brands' reputations, influence and competitiveness, which will boost enterprises' development and the city's industrial upgrading.
Revolving around the market-oriented, innovative and coordinated industrial development, the local government has offered a slew of awards and subsidies for brand building. The city has also promoted cooperation between enterprises and educational institutes to cultivate talents for brand building.
Officials claim that when combined with industrial restructuring and economic reform in the agriculture, manufacturing, and service sectors, the efforts have achieved steady progress.
To date, the city has 116 provincial-level standard agricultural production bases, and 52 agricultural brands have been included on the provincial renowned agricultural brands list.
The city's manufacturing industry benefited from the brand building approach, with equipment manufacturing scale expanding, product structures completed, and technological research and development competence improved.
The city is among the top six engineering machinery hubs in China. It is home to 20 national outstanding "little giant" enterprises, 225 provincial outstanding small- and medium-sized enterprises and 94 provincial "gazelle" enterprises.
