The sixth China-France Local Government High-level Cooperation Forum opened in Toulouse, southeast France, Dec 12.

Co-organized by the Chinese People's Association for Friendship with Foreign Countries and the foreign cooperation department of the French Foreign Ministry, the two-day forum gathered over 100 businessmen and representatives of local governments and organizations from China and France.

As one of the institutionalized projects emphasized by governments on both sides, the forum has been held five times. This year's edition explored new development trends in the two countries' cooperation from a strategic perspective and summarized success experiences in specific cases to enhance mutual cooperation.

During the forum, Yangzhou and Orleans were awarded the prize for local cooperation between France and China for their excellent efforts in tourism cooperation and communication.

The relationship between the two cities dates back to 2015, and fruitful results have been achieved in tourism, economy and education. Tourism, as the key cooperation area, has seen progress in bringing more convenience to people of the two cities and two countries.

A sister-city agreement between Yangzhou and Orleans was signed on April 18, 2018.
