IP court opens trial to the public

The Intellectual Property Court of the Supreme People's Court holds its first open trial of Intellectual Property Rights Publicity Week on April 23. The case was a dispute over a patent invalidation application between appellants search engine giants Baidu and Sogou, and respondent the Patent Reexamination Board of CNIPA. Judicial staffincluded a presiding judge (M, back), two judicial officers (L and R, back), a judge assistant (M, front) and a court clerk (L, front), as well as a technical investigator (R, front) who was responsible for helping the judges understand professional technological phrases arising in the case.
