Chinese medical team to Barbados completes customs clearance for medical supplies
In late December (local time), medical supplies donated by the Chinese government to Queen Elizabeth Hospital (QEH) arrived in Barbados. The Chinese medical team to Barbados assisted with customs clearance for the medical supplies, together with staff of QEH's purchasing department. The donation, with a total value of RMB 843,800 yuan, included medicine and surgical and other equipment and supplies.

The donation to the local hospital followed the dispatch of the third medical team sent by China. It was aimed at benefiting more patients in Barbados with China-provided medical supplies and techniques. The supply list was determined by the first medical team dispatched to QEH and was based on the hospital's demands after an extensive survey. It took two months to ship the donated supplies sourced from China to Barbados. The shipment consisted of eleven containers of tools and supplies used in orthopedic surgeries, equipment and supplies for vascular interventional therapy, as well as equipment and supplies for traditional Chinese medical treatments. Cheng Gang, head of the third medical team, made sound preparation and plans for customs clearance. On that day the team worked closely with staff at the QEH purchasing department and Barbados Customs. After a detailed inventory all donated supplies were transported to the hospital.
