During the one-week Spring Festival holiday from Feb 15 to 21 the number of tourists and amount of tourism revenue reached historic highs in Qianxinan Bouyei and the Miao autonomous prefecture.

Qianxinan received 5.71 million tourists, an increase of 23.8 percent compared with the same period last year. A million and a half of them stayed for at least one night, a figure 138.15 percent higher than that of last year. The number of visitors who enjoyed one-day tours reached 4.21 million, a year-on-year increase of 5.7 percent. 

Total tourist revenue amounted to 3.65 billion yuan ($580 million), 42.79 percent more than the amount taken in during last year's festival.
