Qianxinan Bouyei and Miao autonomous prefecture has invested 7.4 billion yuan ($ 1.12 billion) to bolster the development of their tourism industry. 

Qianxinan is a paradise for mountain tourism and outdoor sports. Its karst landform attracts increasing numbers of tourists and outdoor sport players from home and abroad. 

Located in a subtropical humid monsoon zone, Qianxinan has a pleasant climate with an average temperature of 16.2 degrees all year round. It is warm in winter and cool in summer, making it a suitable place of residence or travel destination. 

Transportation has also played an important role in drawing visitors. Xingyi Wanfenglin Airport, 20 minutes' ride from the downtown area of Xingyi city, opened in July 2004, and now has an annual passenger throughput of 800,000 people. 

The Zhenning-Shengjingguan expressway, Shanghai-Kunming expressway, and Qinglong-Xingyi expressway are open to traffic, providing great convenience to more and more tourists. 

In the first three quarters of 2017, the number of tourists in Qianxinan reached 35.5 million, including about 96,800 foreign tourists, an increase of 57.14 percent year-on-year. The total revenue of the tourism industry was 26.67 billion yuan, up 54.24 percent year-on-year.
