The Qianxinan Bouyei and Miao autonomous prefecture launched an innovation week in Xingren on Sept 15 to promote the creativity and entrepreneurship in the region.

Scheduled to last until Sept 21, the activity week will include some lectures and forums about innovation and entrepreneurship and a job fair to recruit talents for local companies.

Companies and individuals that have made achievements in starting a business or scientific research were also awarded at the ceremony. 

The Qianxinan government has been making efforts to support startups and encourage the spirit of innovation in society. Local business incubators have supported more than 100 startups and created more than 3,000 jobs.

The local authority plans to make the week a platform for people to showcase their innovation and entrepreneurship, facilitating the upgrade of the economic structure and boosting the regional economy.
