The Qianxinan Bouyei and Miao autonomous prefecture was awarded as the most charming region for ecological tourism, local media reported on Sept 5. 

The assessment was organized by People's Daily, China's leading newspaper, to find the most popular tourism destinations in China. 

The newspaper invited tourism experts to assess cities and regions throughout the country. Other charming cities making the list included Suzhou in Jiangsu province and Hangzhou in Zhejiang province. The Panzhou and Huaxi districts of Guiyang, capital of Guizhou province, were also recognized among the top 20 most charming cities and county-level cities for regional tourism. 

With rich tourism resources and historical culture, Qianxinan seized the opportunity to promote its brand of mountain and ecological tourism. It has actively encouraged its local forestry, husbandry and tea industries to attach importance to the preservation of the ecological environment.
