In order to promote the traditional culture of the Qianxinan Bouyei and Miao autonomous prefecture, the tryout featured numerous local cultural products and handicrafts. 

One hundred and thirty-nine skilled craftsmen were selected to attend the competition, designing 132 pieces in total. The products, rich in local ethnic features, included Miao silver work, wax printing, embroidery, sculptures, paper-cuttings and traditional musical instruments. 

In recent years, Qianxinan has been cultivating many traditional craftsmen and supporting local companies engaged in the production of featured ethnic products. 

The competition seeks to collect local ethnic handicrafts, and is expected to present the traditional treasures across China and the world.
