The Qianxinan Bouyei and Miao autonomous prefecture opened its first tourism post office in the Maling River Valley Scenic Area on Aug 18.

Established by the local tourism group and China Post, the post office will produce postcards themed on the scenic spots in Qianxinan to promote local tourism and culture. 

"Visitors can keep good memory in their hearts and send photos of the stunning scenery home with the postcards," said a manager at the Maling River Valley Scenic Area. 

Xu Chao, from Sichuan province, will serve as the first head of the office for a five-year term. Xu is also the 1,000,001st visitor that Qianxinan received this year. 

"I've never thought about becoming the head of a post office," said Xu. "Qianxinan has beautiful mountains and waters, and it will be my responsibility to introduce this wonderful place to more people."

According to official statistics, the three national scenic areas in Qianxinan - Maling River Valley, Wanfeng Forest and Wanfeng Lake – have received more than one million visitors this year.
