Embroidery competition showcased at Liuyueliu festival

People of the Bouyei ethnic group celebrated the Liuyueliu festival, a traditional celebration held on the sixth day of every sixth lunar month, on July 28.
Embroiderers from across the Qianxinan Bouyei and Miao autonomous prefecture and nearby cities gathered in Ceheng county to take part in an embroidery competition.

Participants showcased their skills and crafting vivid flowers, butterflies and birds out of stitches over the one hour time limit.
After the competition, performers sang traditional Bouyei folk songs, danced to music and performed traditional Bouyei operas.
The activities held this year were aimed at promoting traditional Bouyei culture among the younger generations.
