Qianxinan village wins national honor

Bapan village in Qianxinan Bouyei and Miao autonomous prefecture, was honored as a national featured ethnic village in Guizhou province by the State Ethnic Affairs Commission.

Located in southeastern Anlong county, Bapan village has long been home to people of the Bouyei ethnic group. The village is also known for its ancient paper making techniques, dating back generations.
The village, covering about 20,000 square meters, features many wooden houses projecting over the waters of a lake. The unique buildings, old and chunky banyan trees and lush baboo groves form the region's beautiful landscape.

The Local authority has pledged to preserve the traditional culture of the region and build the village into a better place to live and to visit.
