Wanfeng Forest unfolds at the border of the Qipeng Highland at an altitude of over 2,000 meters, nestled between Wanfeng Lake and Huangni River. The mountains and forests in the region form one of the most amazing karst landforms in southwestern China.

Covering more than 2,000 square meters, the forest accounts for two-thirds of the whole of Xingyi. The forest itself is often subdivided into five areas—the Array Forest, Sword Forest, Dragon Forest, Arhat Forest and Diemao Forest.

Beneath the forest rest fossils dating back 200 million years. The forest is also home to the 'Xingyi Citizen' fossil dating back 10,000-20,000 years.
