Startups thrive with government subsidy

Updated: 2017-06-08

Many things are difficult before they get easier, as is development for startups. However, thanks to government support, startups in different industries in Qianxinan Bouyei and Miao autonomous prefecture are being given a helping hand to progress.

From 2012 to 2015, the local authority has been implementing subsidy policies to support startups and boost the regional economy. Many micro companies have received the subsidy and grown, contributing to the economy in return.

Zhenfeng Jingpin Agriculture Development Co Ltd was founded in November 2014 and is engaged in planting roses and related products.

The company received a subsidy in 2016 to establish a 2,700-square-meter R&D center and testing center for rose related products. After the center is up and running, the company is expected to achieve annual profit of 10 million yuan ($1.47 million).

The company has also created more than 300 jobs for local people. “We will provide more jobs for local people as the company grows,” said the company’s manager Liu Jiaomei.
