In a bid to promote the local food industry and increase local incomes, the Qianxinan Bouyei and Miao autonomous prefecture has announced to hold its first International Mountain Food Festival at the end of June.

Jointly hosted by the local government and China Hospitality Association, the festival will highlight local Guizhou specialties such as spiced chicken, glutinous rice cakes, rice noodles with mutton and beef and cold bean jelly.

To promote local brands in the prefecture, the festival will be held across five venues in Xingyi, Xingren county, Anlong county, Zhenfeng county and Qinglong county.

Zhang Jingfu, vice chairman of the China Hospitality Association, said, "We hope the festival will serve as a platform for promoting the healthy and high-quality agricultural products of Qianxinan, and attract more visitors to the region."
