Dragon fruit brings prosperity to Lurong residents

Farmers show their harvested pitayas, or dragon fruit, at Lurong village in Qianxinan Bouyei and Miao autonomous prefecture’s Zhenfeng county. The county has been working to adjust its industrial structure in recent years, and to develop more than 1,000 mu (66.67 hectares) of farming area for pitayas. Based on current market price, each fully realized farmer can make a net income of 5,000 yuan ($731.09) this year.
