Qinglong county in the Qianxinan Bouyei and Miao autonomous prefecture established a sister relationship with Australia’s Tamworth on Oct 20.
The agreement will see the two sides conduct deep cooperation in fields of mountain tourism and grassland cooperation.
Deng Jiafu, vice head of the autonomous prefecture, said that Tamworth’s county music and the prefecture’s ethnic music can learn from each other. Qianxinan plans to arrange singers of ethnic music and dancers to pay a visit to Tamworth.
According to Deng, Qinglong will make use of Tamworth’s advantages in agricultural technologies to train more technicians. He also encouraged enterprises from both sides to cooperate in cultural cultivation and processing.
Qinglong is located in the southwest part of Guizhou province and most of its residents are of ethnic groups. Its signature scenic spot features a winding road through the mountains.
Tamworth is located in eastern Australia, in an area known for producing wool, wheat and dairy products. The city produces flour, wine, dairy products, cables and timber.
