During the Xiuhua Festival, ethnic Miao girls, wearing silver-decorated clothes and head ornaments, danced together to rhythmic music. Guests were greeted with hospitality and friendliness and were invited to join the dance.
"The Xiuhua Festival originated from an entertaining activity for local women. We have celebrated the occasion for three years," said a villager in Xinping.
With the development of cultural tourism, the village welcomes an increasing number of travelers visiting the community and participating in the Xiuhua Festival. The unique Miao celebration is expected to persist over generations.
