Galutu town of Uxin Banner, Ordos city, shared its story of how the traditional dairy snack, naipi (milk skin), has powered integrated ecological and industrial development at the 2025 Boao Forum for Entrepreneurs – Xinhua Index Annual Conference on Dec 5.

By creatively reinventing the classic milk skin with a creative twist, the town has launched over 20 innovative "milk skin+" products – including milk skin pizza and milk skin coffee.

Galutu has upgraded the entire supply chain, from farm to table. The town is improving dairy cattle breeding by crossbreeding Jersey and Holstein cows to cultivate higher-yield, disease-resistant cattle with longer production cycles.

Through systematic breed registration and genetic evaluation, average milk yield has increased by 25 percent. Today, Galutu raises 1,567 high-quality cows – including Holstein, Simmental, and Jersey – producing over 5,000 metric tons of milk annually, boosting farmers' incomes and ensuring product quality at the source.

To strengthen its regional brand, the town has implemented lean supervision measures and established a full-process management system covering environmental monitoring, herd health tracing, and raw milk quality control. Support for large-scale ranches is facilitating the transition of traditional livestock farming toward greater standardization and digitalization.

In 2024, Galutu captured global attention by setting a Guinness World Record for the "largest milk skin" with a 9.58-square-meter creation made from 1,000 kg of milk and 30 kg of cream over four days – further amplifying the fame of its "Milk Skin Town".
