Ordos sees over 46,000 cross-border travelers this year

Ordos has recorded more than 46,000 cross-border travelers so far this year, marking a 79.5 percent increase year-on-year and the highest level in five years.

Passengers from nine international routes, including those connecting Mongolia, South Korea, Vietnam, and Thailand, contributed to the surge. Daily, monthly, and annual traffic volumes have all reached new five-year highs.

To manage the rising traffic, the Ordos Border Inspection Station has worked closely with airport authorities to introduce streamlined services, improving clearance efficiency and enhancing the passenger experience.

This summer, the airport also launched the "10,000 Visitors to Warm City" inbound tourism campaign alongside international flights.

More than 20,000 inbound tourists have since joined, most opting for four- to eight-day leisure packages. The initiative is boosting local attractions, hotels, and the "Warm City" tourism brand, further driving Ordos' cultural and tourism market growth.
