The 3rd Coal Industry Science Outreach Conference took place in Ordos, Inner Mongolia, on Sept 19.

Co-hosted by the China Coal Society and the Ordos Association for Science and Technology, the event brought together over 260 participants, including coal researchers, experts, students, and enterprise representatives from across China.

The conference aimed to build a platform for science outreach in the coal sector, share best practices, showcase the latest achievements, and explore innovative approaches to spreading scientific knowledge.

Through keynote speeches, academic reports, intelligent science exhibitions, and field visits, the event highlighted cutting-edge issues in the coal industry and presented new progress in science outreach.

At the venue, Ordos released its first original popular science book on coal chemical engineering. Organizers also provided details on the China Coal Society Science and Technology Awards application process. Participants later visited Ordos Vocational College's training base and the Ordos Museum to gain first-hand insight into local industrial development and cultural heritage.
